The New Testament's Grammar of Hope

A quick glance at the New Testament's grammar of hope shows that hope is focused upon the defeat of death in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Absent from its talk about hope is any sense that we will survive the world or that our projects will be immortal. Instead, the New Testament consistently insists that hope is in our resurrection in Christ, in what is unseen (Rom 8:24) or laid up for us in heaven (Col 1:5).
